Carreglwyd Estate is a unique wedding venue surrounded by extensive woodland, manicured lawns and lakeside walks. It was the perfect backdrop for Tom and Laura’s boho-meets-festival three-day wedding in the Welsh countryside.
The soon-to-be newlyweds hosted an intimate wedding ceremony on the floating platform, with the tranquil lake and surrounding woodland setting the scene for the first day of their celebrations. Romantic blossom trees lined the aisle as Tom and Laura exchanged their vows. Following the ceremony, guests mingled and enjoyed bubbles on the sun-kissed lawn, before heading back to the family home for a delicious dinner together.
Day two quickly arrived, where a carefully curated playlist welcomed Tom and Laura’s friends and family for their arrival drinks. Our bride-to-be was a total vision with her hair styled to perfection by Naz Sonmez and subtly glowy make-up by Anna Wild. Laura’s bridesmaids dazzled in shimmery bluey-green gowns, while carrying bouquets with greenery and roses, courtesy of the Little Flower Farm.
Hosted at the groom’s family home, the atmosphere was incredibly relaxed. Guests gradually drifted down to a half moon formation of cross-back chairs that faced the lake, featuring circular jute rugs and blossom trees that framed the end of the aisle.
The ceremony was one to remember – it was heart-warming, emotional and full of love – everything that a wedding ceremony should be. It was overseen by the groom’s father, Tom Senior, adding an extra special element to the couple’s nuptials.
After the ‘I Dos’ had been exchanged by the lakeside, Tom and Laura invited their guests to the lawn for cocktails and canapés. The weather was magical for the duration of their celebration, with the sun softly glistening off the lake.
After the drinks reception, a boho-inspired marquee awaited, featuring long wooden tables where the newlyweds enjoyed a rustic sharing feast with their favourite people.
We worked with the couple to style their marquee celebration to reflect a ‘bohemian chic’ vibe, with simplistic tablescape details, natural linen napkins, oodles of foliage and cross-back chairs. We created a stylish chill out area with rattan furniture and cushions, where guests could relax and unwind with a cocktail or two.
The laidback atmosphere moved from the wedding breakfast to the speeches, ending with a ‘breaking of the cake’ that was beautifully baked by Tom’s mother, which is a classic Norwegian tradition.
The evening began with guests moving into the barns for an iconic performance from the legendary Crazy P for the first dance, with vocals courtesy of their friend, Ben. The party focused around a night long DJ roster of friends, offering the perfect reflection of the couple’s story.
They met on the estate at Gottwood Festival and have always been passionate for live music, so the evening reception truly encompassed their time together as a couple.
The morning after the big day involved some very relaxed post-wedding celebrations, featuring wood fired pizzas, DJs and drinks before Tom and Laura’s loved ones headed home. This was a multi-day wedding to remember and it was a pleasure to collaborate with Tom and Laura.
